With every end there’s a new beginning. This is the new beginning. Welcome to CodeMusings.com. There’s millions of blogs on the web. There’s probably millions of blogs covering computer programming. Yet here I am creating another. Why should you read this one?
I can’t answer that question. Hopefully I can provide quality content that will keep you coming back. Hopefully I can provide some insight and hopefully I can provide some posts that create some discussion by you the reader.
I’ve been involved with programming since the late 90′s when I was a computer science major at Texas Tech University. My current job does not directly involve programming but I keep myself up to date and sharp by doing free lance programming on the side. And yes I do manage to also have a social life.
I gave much thought as to whether or not I wanted to start another blog. I’ve run a few different ones that I eventually got rid of or didn’t have time to maintain anymore. It’s easy to start a blog when you have no readers yet but as you start getting readers you have to continue creating new content to keep your readers. Personally I only blogs in my blog reader that have a great post at least every other week or more. This means that when I run a blog I like to keep to a schedule of at least one quality post a week. When things get busy I am not always able to keep to that but I do try.
I like to start a blog with a general plan of which direction I want it to take. You never know though exactly where it will end up. So in short I’ve become really fond of using the Zend Framework and I have plans on doing a whole series of tutorials on this. I also intend to take a look at Ruby on Rails at some point in time and if I do I will share my experiences with that as well. Primarily though, this blog will be centered around PHP.
So there you have it in a nutshell. I don’t know everything (far from it) about PHP and I definitely don’t know everything about programming. Hopefully I have some knowledge to share with you nonetheless. So keep reading and if you like what you’re seeing subscribe to my feed and help spread the word. A little link love never hurts.
